Keepin’time started as a simple idea, let’s bring
some of the most revered and notable L.A. session drummers together
for a photo shoot. Then have them talk about the famous (to
us) recordings that we (those whose ears have been opened through
hip-hop) treasure, sample and discuss endlessly.
The musicians (Roy Porter, Earl Palmer, Paul Humphrey and James
Gadson) were excited at the prospect of sitting together and
discussing old times, old friends and the business.

Gabriel Soucheyre
Director of VIDEOFORMES, International New Media and Video Art
Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, France since its
creation in 1986. Gabriel runs an alternative gallery - Galerie
de l'art du temps / Chapelle de l'oratoire - and a quarterly
magazine : Turbulences Video.
Since 1999,Videoformes has been developing a web TV : zzaZzooTiVi
(young video artists : videos and videoportraits). In 2003,
Videoformes started a digitilizing programme in order to save
a number of self produced videos or ‘independant’
videos : VIDEOFORMES DIGITAL ARCHIVES.Videoformes has become
a reference in new media and video art and curates video programmes

B+ (aka Brian Cross) was born and raised in Limerick,
Ireland.He attended the National College of Art and
Design in Dublin, graduating in 1989 with a degree in
painting. In 1990 he came to Los Angeles to study photography
at the California Institute of the Arts. He has directed
several music videos for DJ Shadow and ones for Nitro
Microphone Underground (Japan) and Control Machete (Mexico).
His latest venture puts old school drummers together
with new school DJs and is entitled ‘Keepintime:
Talking Drums and Whispering Vinyl’. B+ still
lives in L.A., answers his own phone, digs like crazy
and DJs locally from time to time.
