An Gaelgoir Nocht

Ireland - 2006 - 50mins - Digibeta - Colour
Is gaelgóir meán aosta ó Bhaile Átha Cliath é Éanna atá ina chónaí san aisling ghaeltachta i gContae Chiarraí. Tosaíonn an tóin ag titim as an saol idéalach seo nuair a fheicinn sé go bhfuil an domhain foirfe ghaeilge faoi scáth an Bhéarla, sna scoileanna, sna caiféanna agus fiú ina thigh féin. In ísle brí, tosaíonn sé ar an ól agus buaileann sé le spéirbhean, gaelgóir eile, Síoda. Oibríonn sí mar léirtheoir do TG4. I rith na hoíche, is coirloisceoir í a loiteann tithe sa Ghaeltacht le béarlóirí iontu.
Mealaíonn Síoda Éanna. Liostaíonn sí é ina grúpa aontoisctheach. Tréiginn Éanna a mhuintir ar thóir saol fiúntach, beathaíoch le Gaeilge á thimpeallú. Bíonn saol nua óg aige, áit ina bhíonn sé mar laoch reabhlóideach Gaelach, de thaisme, ar son na cúise. Is í an fhírinne lom a loiteann an saol atá aige ag an deireadh. An bhfuil aon éalú ó smacht an Bhéarla ina shaol?

An Gaelgoir Nocht
Ireland - 2006 - 50mins - Digibeta - Colour
Eanna, is a middle aged Dublin Gaelgóir living the dream in the Kerry Gaeltacht. His world starts to crumble when he discovers that his cherished Gaelic world is succumbing to an irresistible tide of English; in the schools, in the cafés and worst of all in his own home - even his wife and beloved daughter speak English behind his back. Unable to accept his discovery, he hits the bottle and meets a strikingly beautiful Gaelgóir zealot, SIODA. By day Síoda is a presenter for TG4, by night she is an arsonist burning down the homes of English speakers in the Gaeltacht. Síoda seduces Eanna and enlists him to her group of Gaelic extremists. Eanna leaves his family and takes to the road on a wild adventure, inadvertently becoming a cult hero for the Gaelic cause. But real life isn’t long catching up with Eanna as he finds life on the edge a step too far.
